Week 3 Round Up!
Another week over and we have had an exciting colour filled week.
It was a busy one and as staff we certainly enjoyed it, we the children did as well!
So on Monday we did lots of team building games, made team flags and had a huge camp quiz! The campers were in mixed groups with the older ones helping out the younger ones, we saw some great team work and the campers thought the leaders baby picture round was a fun one. The winning team was a group of red team members so it gave 1 more point to the red team on the summer competition.
Tuesday was a busy one, we all played the maze game. We went swimming, the juniors went down to the survival academy and they taught them how to roast marshmallows! It was busy!
Wednesday saw an impressive show of juniors got talent, swimming, a huge game of Danish Longball from the wilds and in the survival academy they made pancakes which tasted really good!
Thursday we swam again, had our bikes and scooters at camp and we decorated biscuits which went down a treat!
Then came Friday, all the leaders were so excited for this day. The weather started off a bit rainy so the wilds were inside writing team chants for the red v blue team competition. Then later on in the morning they taught them to the juniors. The teamwork when they were doing this was amazing. For the afternoon, the weather cleared up and it was time for the colour run. But first we had to have the red v blue song battle. Both songs were so good and it was really hard for me to pick a winner but the winner came out as the blue team for their great lyrics. After that we put the music on and the colour run began. It was great, spirits were high and it was lovely to see so many big smiles. We finished the week with our closing ceremony, with a huge conga line and a camper of the day and week for each group. The team and I had a great day.
It was a mad week and we've loved having more children on camp.
Stay tuned for the week 4 update and the theme is SHIPWRECKED!
