Summer 2022- Day 1
Hello all!!
What a fantastic day on camp! We really have had a stunning opening day to Summer 2022 and cannot wait to see what the rest of summer has in store.
We kicked off the morning with some ice breaker games getting to know all the wonderful campers we have with us today- students arranged each other by names, birthdays and heights, as well as playing a snowball throw game which helped with their reading and communication skills- linking the snowball to the person who through it!
Following this Joe took the campers through their paces with some intense basketball drills and shooting practice. Finishing off is a fun hearted game.
We then celebrated being the first on Summer Camp in 2022- getting a bit messy we painted our hands and printed them onto a big sign that once dry we can stick up on camp as a celebration (photo is attached).
Due to unforeseen weather our Den Building Activity was converted into FortWars, several groups in the sports hall build their strongest forts before they were tested with the sheer might of tennis balls bombarding them!
When the sun did brighten, Campers had the time to control their activities outside. Some enjoying further sports including Football and Rugby with others playing on the newly installed adventure playground that we have access too.
As I write this now, campers are enjoying various parachute games with Annabelle and Joe, really testing the meaning of teamwork and communication.
We will finish off the day with a final celebration assembly where we will recognise a couple 'Campers of the Day'.
Thankyou to you all for bringing these wonderful campers along, as mentioned we are thrilled for the next 6 weeks :)
Look forward to updating you on tomorrows activities.
Daniel (Site Manager).
