Ghyll Royd Summer Camp- Week 5

Hi everyone! The start of week 5 is here! The campers are currently engaging in some Rugby, burning off a lot of energy!

This post is just a little update for the rest of the week...

The theme on camp this week is Magic/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). We will be looking at lots of magical things swell as looking at a few science experiments with lots of learning involved! 

Tuesday is Throwdown Day, we will be playing some cricket, completing some more elements of our booklets and filling a balloon without using air, looking at the reaction between baking soda and vinegar. 

Wednesday is Wild Wednesday, we will be making some dreamcatchers, cracking some secret codes and making straw rockets!

Thursday we are GO'IN Green, looking at some elements of geography, designing our own wands and doing the classic coke and mentos bottle rockets. Thursday will also be our Bikes and Scooters day, if campers have a bike or scooter they would like to bring in, we will set up a safe area in the playground for them to ride.

Friday is celebration day, we will be playing basketball, making lemon volcanos, making pizzas and making a fingerprint wizard!

Really looking forward to this week and I hope you are too! Please be aware that our final week will only be a four day camp (Tues-Fri) due to the bank holiday weekend.
