Summer Week 3 - Olympics Closing Ceremony
There was a little and sometimes a lot of competition this week.
We looked at what elements make up different flags around the world and then tried to create our own. The Flags that we made were fabulous with beautiful explanations about how the elements of the flag describe them. We paraded them into the ‘Olympic Stadium’ to cheers and applause and put them on display for the day.
We used our explorations of the world and cultures to take a deep dive into Origami, starting with learning to make a paper plane through to creating butterflies and rabbits with just 1 square of paper.
We played different sports: football, rugby, tried to shoot some hoops and even worked on our target sports. When I say target sports I mean, we had an impromptu water balloon fight on Friday which gave us the chance to throw the balloons as far as we could as well as trying to hit moving targets (our friends) which only ever ends up in Soaking the staff!
We have had a glorious week with the weather being kind, if not too kind, to us and staying clear. Fingers Crossed we get the same from Monday when we have our Final week and its theme is…SURVIVOR!
Keep your eyes peeled for a Sunday Update on what to expect in week 4!
